Moulton APB FX Bicycle with official APB Rack Fully upgraded

  
Moulton APB FX Bicycle (with the APB rack). Fully upgraded in 2013 and low mileage since. This is a restored and refurbished Moulton FX one of the last APB frames built! The forks are built from Reynolds 531 steel (2004). The (non-separable) main x-frame (serial:8000 - one of the last APBs), is from 2006. On this part the seat tube is made from Reynold 531 steel (the rest being high-tensile steel). These critical components had been replaced from the factory following a bike crash. As these parts are later manufacture, the steel braising is seamlessly smooth (early-90s APBs have lumpy braising). The rear triangle is from a compatible donor APB. The original triangle failed from metal fatigue in 2007. The rear suspension pivot was serviced/replaced with a new part from the factory in 2013. The front suspension has received upgraded red rebound stops from the factory for improved ride quality. The frame was fully resprayed and lacquered in Sky Blue (RAL 5015). There is a small scratch on the kingpin (from a bike lock hanging there).

The gear indicators have scratches due to my repairing a flat tyre with the bike upside down. Shimano Sora 2013 STIs on Nitto Drop Bars. 9-speed Shimano Capreo cassette and hub with a Shimano Tiagra 9 speed short deraillieur. 10-speed 52-39 Shimano Tiagra chain-rings with V12 light Magnesium pedals. Alexa 32-hole rims front and back.

Continental Sport Contact 28-406 front tyre and Continental Grand Prix at the rear. The front hub is a 32h Goldtec - super smooth high-end engineering. The rear hub is Shimano Capreo (specially selected for it 9-tooth top gear enabling high-speed with small wheels). Shimano mini-v brakes with Aztec cartridges, front and rear. Highly effective with the Sora STIs.

Sale includes the original APB seat post. Bike is currently fitted with a BBB longscraper due to my height. The bike has just had its brakes and gears serviced with new handlebar tape fitted.
