Airnimal Joey Folding Bicycle With 2 Gear Systems

  

This Airnimal Joey is very unusual. Before I became its owner, it was very ingeniously fitted with 2 gear systems: a 3 gear Strurmey Archer + a 7 gear Shimano derailleur gear. This combination gives 21 gears and a remarkable top: bottom gear ratio of 444%. The Sturmey Archer gear change also has the advantage of being selectable when the bicycle is stationary.

As with the Airnimal range, the bicycle also folds up to suitcase size. There is only 1 size. Both tyres are rugged Kenda Kwest 20''. To soften the ride, I incorporated a Cane Creek'Thudbuster' under the saddle. This entailed changing the 30.2 mm Joey seatpost for a standard one and incorporating a bespoke shim.

The original 30.2mm seat post is included with the cycle. A mudguard was fitted under the frame, so as not to interfere with the folding procedure. The cycle has a robust'Old Man Mountain' luggage carrier. A spare inner 20'' inner tube will be included with the sale.
